Basic (very basic) premise: Arthur doesn’t want to admit his feelings for Eames. He wants to keep his mind on the job at hand. Eames on the other hand is frustrated that their relationship is being kept secret. They argue. Cobb hearing their rasied voices interrupts them and Arthur storms off. Eames shrugs off Cobb’s concerned questions as Arthur disappears. Secretly he’s devastated.
